On Oct. 16, Osage County residents are invited to dispose of computers, radios, cameras, VCRs, CD players and other electronic devices with a cord or a battery.
An electronics recycling event will take place from 9 a.m.-noon at Lions Club Park in Linn.
The Mid-Missouri Solid Waste Management District and Midwest Recycling Center are hosting the event. While most items are free to recycle, there will be fees for certain items. Those items and associated fees are: console television, $50; rear-projection television, $50; televisions vacuum tubes that are 27 inches or larger, $50; televisions with vacuum tubes that are 26 inches or smaller, $30; LED and plasma televisions, $20; devices containing Freon, $10; and monitors with tubes, $5.
Staff from the district and recycling center will unload items from vehicles; those bringing items to recycle are asked to remain in their vehicles at all times.
The Osage County Sheriff’s Department will also do a drug takeback to collect unused or expired medications for safe disposal at the event.
